Nesting Hawksbill Turtles - Seychelles

''If you are lucky enought to be in the Seychelles when the turtles are hatching their young, there is a fragile beauty to this annual ritual.'' Claire Dicken

Why do you love seeing the nesting sea turtles?

This is a  privileged opportunity to see such a majestic and endangered species.  Hopefully something our grandchildren will also be able to see, but not guaranteed…

What is it?

From October to February the world’s most endangered sea turtle, the Hawksbill, climbs out of the water to lay its eggs by moonlight and then heads back to the open sea.

Where is it?

Throughout the Seychelles, although our favourite is Desroches Island, 1 hour by light plane from Mahe.

Who is it right for?

If you get a buzz from seeing something truly rare, then it doesn’t get much better than this.
