Namibia
Flying safari, cultural sightseeing, game viewing, desert quad biking, hot-air ballooning
There are times, in Namibia, when the landscape literally takes your breath away: along the mystical and haunting Skeleton Coast; overlooking the vast and wild Fish River Canyon; amongst the roaring sand dunes of Sossusvlei. And there are places where the peace is so deep and the colours so astonishing that the only response can be silence.
In our opinion, one of the best ways to see this spectacular country is from the air - whether on a bespoke flying safari over several days, or simply a scenic flight from one desert camp to another.
But Namibia is more than just scenery: the rocks of the central plateau are a blueprint for evolution; the Himba tribes provide an insight into some of the world’s last nomadic peoples; and the desert of Damaraland gives a glimpse of some of the strangest wildlife adaptations on Earth.
Of course, there is also the famously teeming wildlife of the Etosha Pans – although we have found that the teeming tourists detract greatly from the experience there.
