Private Safari in Tanzania

Tanzania Holidays

Game viewing, walking safaris, diving, snorkelling, beach, chimp trekking

Sitting on a high kopje at sunset and watching thousands of migrating wildebeest march across the vast Serengeti plain below you is one of life’s most extraordinary moments. But Tanzania has much more to offer: with a richly varied landscape, over a quarter of its area designated as protected reserves, and a strong commitment to developing tourism sustainably (conserving its natural resources and preserving the culture of its 120 tribes are the twin priorities) it is possibly the greatest safari destination of all. What’s more, for the ultimate safari  - a private tented one - Tanzania (alongside Kenya) has arguably the best outfitters and guides.

However its variety means that this is a country where we take special pride in our expertise, knowing that the advice of an insider will make all the difference between the merely good and the exceptional – matching the right camps, lodges and (especially) guides to your taste, style and personality, and getting you to the country’s hidden corners, away from the usual tourist track.

And the post-safari icing on the cake?  The island paradise of Zanzibar, just offshore, with its pristine beaches, barefoot-deluxe lodges and enticing cocktail of Bantu and Arabic cultures.

Best visited: July to December (excluding November due to the rains)

All itineraries are individually designed, but as a guide, we can arrange ten days in Tanzania, including flights, from £4200 per person.

“I am able to tell you that without exception, all the people I talked to wished they had had a trip as organised as mine was”
