Our two week honeymoon consisted of the most perfect mixture: relaxation and lying on a beach followed by four days of unforgettable safari.
Benguerra Lodge on Benguerra Island in Mozambique was a truly fabulous place. We were looked after so incredibly well. Our casita, where we stayed, was perfect. We enjoyed total relaxation: lying on private sun beds on our private deck with a private plunge pool, watching fishermen out to sea or lying on beach beds under the shade of a palm canopy. We ate the most delicious food and had the most wonderful boat trips, romantic picnics and islands walks.
The lodge was fantastic and is spread out so you don’t necessarily see other guests. There is no glass or air conditioning, just local woods, fans and a fabulous sea breeze. The resort is cleverly designed, total luxury.
Our four nights of safari at Londolozi in South Africa will never be forgotten. We were greeted by champagne and were looked after beautifully at all times. Our rooms at Tree Camp were extremely comfortable; the camp itself was brilliantly laid out that had a wonderful tree top terrace for viewing animals whilst we ate endless delicious meals. Seeing the animals in such close proximity without the intrusion of other guests was a real treat.
Byron, our guide and our tracker was incredible at finding the animals. We saw so many amazing things: a leopard kill, hyenas eating a stolen meal, a pride of hunting lions, families of elephants, rhinos, zebras, giraffes, a herd of 300 buffalos all in the complete wilderness of the African bush... Our bush drives ended each day with sundowners, star gazing. Every supper was held in a more magical location than the night before. All in all, a totally unforgettable experience, we highly recommend it!
Georgina put so much thought and consideration into creating the most perfect combination of holiday and we can’t thank her enough. We will definitely be calling her again very soon!
