the dream

'‘We want to see the real Argentina- the big wide-open spaces. We want to have guides who don’t treat us like we are in a sausage machine and want to stay in small lodges and hotels which are comfortable but not mass-market.’'

the vision

c+l work throughout Argentina with guides who are passionate about their region and have often come to guiding late in life. We also work with small, usually privately owned properties in the more remote parts of the country. Most of the bigger tour operators design their itineraries around where the large hotels are - Buenos Aires, Bariloche, Ushuaia and El Calafate. c+l do precisely the opposite, avoiding the big hotels and ensuring less exposure to other tourists. It means longer and more expensive journeys between places and more expensive one to one guiding with more mature guides … but we deliver a better experience because of this and bring true added value away from mass tourism.

the experience

Where you go in Argentina needs to be driven by the time of year.

From October through March we can design an extraordinary two or three week trip taking in the lesser-visited parts of Lake District. Here there are estancias and small hotels from which we can organise horse-riding, fishing and general sightseeing. Then it’s down to Patagonia, Los Glaciares and Fitzroy National Parks.  For the more adventurous we can organise great treks or rides on horseback.
From April through October the North West and North East of the country open up. The spectacular gorges and mountains of Salta in the North West can be used as a crossing point into Chile’s Atacama Desert. And in the North East, the Ibera Wetlands are fantastic for fishing, riding and wildlife.

Buenos Aires and the Iguazu Falls as well as Mendoza and Cordoba can be worked into most itineraries at any time of year.
