With only 25 spacious cabins it is about half of the size of the luxurious ‘The Road to Mandalay’ giving a more personalised and unique experience enriched by excellently sourced guides.

Every cabin will have a river view and the voyages will last from 7-11 days, journeying through stunning landscapes and allowing offshore excursions to interact with the Chindwin tribes and local monks.

Look out for Tony Scotland’s article in House and Garden next year, for a real insight into the spirit of this remote land and how c+l can arrange a once in a lifetime trip through Burma. Tony travelled this August on “The Road to Mandalay” in order to navigate to the far North of the country, so travelling in the rainy season, when water levels are high. The shallower draft of the new “Orcaella” means that you can make the extraordinary journey from Bagan via Mandalay to Bhamo in the dry season. The perfect time to see the temples around Bagan and Manadalay but also to journey further North and see parts of the country which few can access and from the luxury of the newest boat on the river.
