Vermeer\'s, Rembrandt\'s and Picasso\'s
Amsterdam and The Hague have undergone a 21st Century artistic renaissance. With the Rijksmuseum and Mauritshuis comprehensibly renovated and fully open they are exhibiting some of the most celebrated paintings in the world in dramatic new gallery settings.
However, the trick is to get under the skin of the Old Masters and explore their journeys from brush to canvas. With private visits to leading museums, not only will you see the paintings in the company of James McDonaugh, who has curated this trip with us, and his expert Art Historian based in the Netherlands, you will also have the chance, with local art experts, to visit the studios and walk the streets, which were the inspiration of the Great Masters.
“What this unique journey aims to do is give you an inside track into Amsterdam’s golden past through visits to people and places, some of which are normally closed to the public”.
We have included private visits to the most important museums and collections, including the Van Gogh museum and a private dinner at the Van Loon museum. You will also have priority entrance at the Rijksmuseum giving you time to admire the Vermeers completely to yourself. With your local guide taking you on fascinating historical walks in Amsterdam and a day trip to The Hague & Delft, this is the chance to explore these beautiful cities through the eyes of those who have lived and breathed it all their lives.
