THE LANDSCAPES WILL TAKE YOUR BREATH AWAY

Africa + Indian Ocean

Namibia

Flying safari, cultural sightseeing, game viewing, desert quad biking, hot-air ballooning

There are times in Namibia when the landscape literally takes your breath away: along the mystical and haunting Skeleton Coast; overlooking the vast and wild Fish River Canyon; amongst the roaring sand dunes of Sossusvlei. And there are places where the peace is so deep and the colors so astonishing that the only response can be silence.

In our opinion, one of the best ways to see this spectacular country is from the air - whether on a bespoke flying safari over several days, or simply a scenic flight from one desert camp to another.

But Namibia is more than just scenery: the rocks of the central plateau are a blueprint for evolution; the Himba tribes provide an insight into some of the world’s last nomadic peoples; and the desert of Damaraland gives a glimpse of some of the strangest wildlife adaptations on Earth.

Of course, there is also the famously teeming wildlife of the Etosha Pans – although we have found that the teeming tourists detract greatly from the experience there.

Best visited: All year round

All itineraries are individually designed, but as an indication, we can arrange ten days in Namibia (excluding international flights) from $7800 per person.

Guides

Our relationships count for a lot and we still work with some of the same people we have worked with for twenty years. There is also constant change and the teams are always reviewing and adding to the experiences which they can offer and the lodges, hotels and guides they work with.

lloyd

Guide

best tour guide Namibia

Lloyd is a quite exceptional individual besides being an excellent guide.  Having paddled a small boat the length of the Okavango Delta and completed 26 marathons he is determined and active; two vital characteristics for a talented guide. This drive is exactly what makes Lloyd so special. He inspires clients to do things they would not otherwise think possible, such as trekking up a forested slope to see mountain gorillas. His experience in different parts of Africa over the last 21 years gives him a depth and wealth of knowledge far exceeding most guides. Indeed, he has previously trained and recruited managers and guides throughout Africa, such is his understanding of what is required to make a client’s safari experience unique and special.

Lloyd is both engaging and good-spirited. His recent years working as a free-lance guide have shown just how sought after he is.  Always in high demand, we are grateful to have such a good relationship with him which means he will always try and make himself available for cazenove+loyd clients.  On your journey with, you will hear tales of close encounters with lion, rhino and crocodile and be enlivened by the places he takes you, so prepare yourself for a safari like no other.

The choice of what is best for the client is our only consideration

There is a real sense of adventure here due in part to the camps remoteness as well as its traditional tented design. Set amongst rocky hills looking out at the Etendeka Mountains, the rugged landscape offers a contrasting beauty to the red desert landscapes of the south. Run in conjunction with Namibia’s Save the Rhino Trust guests can get involved with conservation efforts which is unique to this camp.
