An Escorted Journey

A family wildlife adventure with Sandie Salazar Pico

This is an enchanting family adventure filled with wildlife, treasure hunts, mountain biking, cave explorations, swimming with marine life, art classes, cookery lessons and fishing with local fishermen. Based out of an African style safari camp on the island of Santa Cruz, guests will have access to a world of secrets, which cannot be reached by larger yachts.

We have chosen the best guides who will bring these islands to life in a way that no guide book ever could. What we love about the Galapagos Safari Camp is that it is a family-run property and the owners know better than anyone that patience, flexibility and energetic guides and staff are essential to make this a success. We have worked closely with the camp to create a really special and unique trip with plenty of surprises along the way.

We have arranged for our favourite guide, Sandie Salazar Pico to personally lead you and the children through the secrets of the Galapagos. Sandie has worked as a research associate for the Charles Darwin Foundation and has led several scientific expeditions in the islands. A mother of two, she understands how to relate her knowledge of the Galapagos Islands to young children and her passion for conservation and wildlife is immediately infectious.

“Based out of an African style safari camp on the island of Santa Cruz, guests will have access to a world of secrets, which cannot be reached by larger yachts.”

At the end of the week we are also holding some cabins on the Athala II, a small 16 passenger, luxury catamaran. For those who would like to extend their time and join this five night cruise, this couldn’t be a better way to reach the more remote, outer islands in true comfort and in the hands of highly experienced staff and guides.

The crew know how to make days fun and inspirational for children and, as most of the cruising is done at night, a new adventure and landscape awaits each morning. Highlights include the bright red, sandy beach of Rabida Island and swimming with sea lions on Bartolome Island.

The cost of this cruise is not included but do let us know if this is of interest and we will be delighted to make all the arrangements to reserve your cabins.
