Only 2 Cabins Remain

An exclusive journey into the heart of South Africa
Glide into the fringes of the Kruger National Park; the crystal waters of the St Lucia Wetlands; Durban’s bustling waterfront and the historic Zulu battlefields. This private rail charter of Africa’s most luxurious train takes our Guests on an extraordinary journey at a gentle pace through beautiful landscapes.

Meet the founders of the Rattray Trust
Spend a day with the Rattray family at their celebrated lodge, Fugitives’ Drift. The Rattray family themselves will guide our guests to the stunning viewpoint of Isandlwana and share the tragic, human story of the 12 hour battle between 140 soldiers of the British Empire and 3000 Zulu warriors. There is also the opportunity to see the work of the David Rattray Foundation which supports 22 local schools. For every place sold, a donation of £100 is being given to help further its work.

Game-viewing in the Kruger National Park
Enjoy the extraordinary diversity of wildlife in one of Africa’s most important game reserves. Top guides will accompany you on safari vehicles into the heart of the Kruger, where all of the ‘Big Five’ are present. Take an exciting game drive on board safari vehicles as expert wildlife guides drive effortlessly between ancient baobab trees and over the rolling hills and untamed bush in the pursuit of the Big Five.

A cruise on the St Lucia Estuary
Explore these outstandingly beautiful, crystal-clear wetlands by boat, led by experienced rangers who know these waters intimately. Declared a World Heritage Site in 1999, the protected reserve has a huge population of hippo as well as rhino, elephant, buffalo and large crocodiles.

Travel with Michael Buerk
Michael was the BBC’s correspondent in South Africa during apartheid and his uncompromising reports on the brutalities of the regime led to his exile from the country after four years in the post.
