Christopher Wilmot-Sitwell

A lot has happened since 1983, when I was first in Botswana's Okavango Delta and Henrietta Loyd was (not that I knew it then) running a lodge in the Linyanti area of the same country. Now, over a quarter of a century later, we work in three different, exciting but very challenging regions of the world. Much has changed - yet many of the logistical challenges remain the same as they were in early 1980s Africa.

That's why, in order to deliver what we promise – a unique itinerary, custom-designed for each and every client, based precisely upon what they tell us they are looking for - we need to work in a different way from other travel companies.

In Africa+Indian Ocean there is now a vast choice of luxury safari lodges, camps, hotels and guides – but we still work with only the relative handful of properties and people who we can trust to deliver to the demanding standards we expect for our clients.

In Central+South America reliability is even more of a challenge than in Africa; high-end luxury travel is a very young business here, and we need to be on top of every moment in every itinerary to ensure that our clients get the most out of every day. It's also an incredibly dynamic region, where we need to travel constantly to find and help create new and exciting experiences.

And in South+South East Asia we are constantly developing new relationships and experiences that set us apart. In a region where tourism is increasingly important, it's a constant challenge to find those different angles and bespoke experiences, which set us apart from the mainstream.

Throughout this website Lucy, Claire, Alex and their teams share views and insights into what makes their particular regions of the world special for them … and potentially for our clients.

“They’re in tune with what the client wants. They took my idea and enhanced the experience, genuinely offering something unique”
