Bhutan
Cultural sightseeing, trekking, botany, bird watching, festivals
Enigmatic and unspoilt, exotic and timeless, this Buddhist mountain kingdom is extraordinary – both geographically and culturally – and it delivers a unique and extremely rewarding experience to all who go. We feel passionately that there’s much more to Bhutan than its iconic dzongs and their spectacular mountain backdrop, and the five-star luxury of Bhutan’s newer hotels.
There are now some really comfortable, small luxury lodges and hotels and you can use these as comfortable bases from which to explore the main valleys.
We have also worked over the years very closely with our Bhutanese partner – a member of the Royal family – to develop something different, exclusive and very special for those who want to do more than scratch the surface.
Trekking here is also becoming more sophisticated, allowing you to experience Bhutan’s pristine mountain wilderness in more comfort.
Best visited: September to December. March to May. (And December to March though cold)
All itineraries are individually designed, but as a guide, we can arrange ten days in Bhutan (not including flights) from £2900/ $4350 per person.
