Why do you love Gwalior Fort?

They have made a postage stamp of this fort to commemorate its importance yet visitor numbers are low. So not only can you enjoy its intricate carvings and original blue and yellow ceramic tiles (not seen anywhere else in India) but you can do so in glorious peace.

What is it?

Known as’ The Gibraltar of India’, this is one of India’s biggest forts, standing on a granite outcrop 100m above the ancient city below.

Where is it?

The fort and buildings span the entire 1.5 miles of the rocky outcrop found in the north of Madhya Pradesh.
