Maldives
Beaches, scuba diving, snorkelling, deep sea fishing, sailing, spa
A spectacular double strand of 26 atolls, contining 1200 islands, scattered across 90,000 sq km of the Indian Ocean The Maldives epitomise the escapist idyll: powdery white beaches, turquoise water and coral reefs teeming with sea life. Every resort is on its own private island, which means that you’re not really going to a country at all, but straight to your island hideaway. And there’s the rub: The Maldives has an increasingly wide range of world-class resorts, each with its own style and character – which makes insider knowledge essential. Because your resort is your destination, getting it wrong can only mean trouble in paradise.
We have spent a lot time seeing and staying at all of the different properties, understanding what makes them tick and what their pluses and minuses are. This enables us to match the right island or combination of islands to your style, taste and the particular experience that you’re looking for. The Maldives is ideal for a one week escape or as a sybaritic contrast to a journey in India or Sri Lanka.
Best visited: December to April. July to December are also popular times for families to travel but expect some rain.
All itineraries are individually designed, but as a guide, we can arrange ten days in the Maldives (not including flights) from £2400/ $3600 per person.
