Nepal

Wildlife, cultural sightseeing, trekking

This tiny Himalayan kingdom packs a huge punch, both culturally and geographically. A fusion of both Hinduism and Buddhism, it’s teeming with palaces, temples and mediaeval towns; one of the most beautiful lands in Asia, it’s home to eight of the world’s ten highest mountains. Its rivers and mountains offer some of the world’s best trekking and rafting, its national parks shelter the one horned rhinoceros and the Royal Bengal Tiger and its people exude life, colour and warmth.

Nevertheless, a Maoist rebellion has seen Nepal in the headlines for all of the wrong headlines in recent years and (although the conflict was never directed at tourists) it has brought tourism to a virtual standstill at some points. Now, with the situation looking much more promising, visitors are slowly returning - and we feel very optimistic that your trip will not be disrupted (although we’d like to see a more sustained
period of stability before saying that we’re 100 percent confident)

Meanwhile, some of the famous trekking routes are virtually deserted, so we urge you to visit before the country gets busy again.

Best visited: October to May

All itineraries are individually designed, but as a guide, we can arrange ten days in Nepal (not including flights) from £1900/ $2850 per person.
