the high life
+ click to read moreThe Ladakah Festival in the Himalayan villages around Leh is a colourful and exuberant celebration that takes place in the first two weeks of September. Dancing, singing and music are performed in traditional dress, whilst there are also archery and polo tournaments. We can take you right inside the action, to soak up the atmosphere, giving you a unique opportunity to observe the traditions of these deeply spiritual people close up. After the festival you can stay in one of the six beautifully converted luxury houses in the remote mountain villages and experience a way of life that has remained almost unchanged for centuries.
September
By avoiding school holidays, we can take you to some of the most spectacular destinations in the world without the need to book too far ahead. And destinations such as the Himalayas are at their most beautiful for walking and spectacular views post-Monsoon.
We also like Peru at this time of year and it is one of the best months to combine the Andes in Peru with the calmer seas post-August which tend to prevail in the Galapagos off the coast of neighbouring Ecuador.
Still a little hot but nothing compared to June/July/August, it is also a nice time to be in Morocco.

mountain kingdom
Our favourite month in this timeless mountain kingdom. Not too cold or too warm to walk and trek and spectacular Himalayan views after the monsoon season.
