Central + South America

    Holiday to Peru

Colonial cities, lakes, rainforest and ancient ruins combine to make a perfect introduction to South America.

While the city of Cuzco and the dramatic Inca site of Machu Picchu should be included in any first-time itinerary, we always try to pair them with something more off the beaten track to create a truly unforgettable, luxury holiday in Peru.

Experience treks which most do not know about, private access to museums, leisurely lunches in quirky locations and Amazon expeditions with world-class naturalist guides. Our network of contacts makes pretty much anything possible.
With our expert planning, you can take a private trek to remote villages and ruins in the Sacred Valley, ride on horseback to visit the condors in the spectacular Colca Valley, travel by luxury train through Andean landscapes and also spend time on the magical islands of Lake Titicaca or in a remote Amazonian lodge.

When you travel with us, we will make a contribution on your behalf to one of the following charities: All About the Light Foundation in Africa, ABOUTAsia Travel & Schools in Cambodia, the Alalay Foundation in Bolivia and Scott Polar Research Institute in the Polar Regions.

If clients are interested, we are always keen to get them involved in local projects and conservation efforts. Whether it be whale counting in Antarctica or rhino relocation in Kenya, you will leave knowing your actions have made a difference.

We have a fantastic VIP service in place to help you navigate the airport and make your journey as smooth and easy as possible. We can collect you from your home, take you to the airport and escort you through check-in and immigration to avoid any queues, straight through to the airport lounge before boarding your flight. The same service can be put in place on your return journey.

We understand that one of the most important factors to our clients is flexibility to give you as much assurance as possible when booking your next trip. We are extremely flexible and are on hand to discuss with you the latest updates on flexibility in any one of our destinations.

We have excellent relationships with a handful of insurance companies who provide various forms of cover. Each one offers a different policy with varying terms and conditions, so we strongly recommend getting a series of quotes and discussing your personal requirements in detail with them in order to find the best one for you.

Booking and travelling with an accredited tour operator is more important than ever. cazenove+loyd is a bonded tour operator and is ATOL protected by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). Our ATOL number is 3208. This means that the UK government guarantees all funds paid out to a bonded operator and is bound to pay in full if the bond holder is unable to deliver as contracted. This gives our clients peace of mind and full financial protection. Please see our booking conditions for further information.

We have put the relevant measures in place so that our destinations are ready to welcome you safely. In all of our destinations, sanitation and hygiene in our vehicles and the properties we work with are extensive, with cleaning protocols rigidly followed as well as other necessary safety requirements. We always arrange private vehicles and guides for our clients when travelling in a destination.

The price of our service is dependent on the intricacies of the itinerary. No two trips are the same. Our philosophy is to make every detail tailored just to you.

    Stories from Peru

When I reflect back on my time in South America, my mind always drifts back to meandering through the Peruvian Andes. I was fortunate enough to be a passenger for two nights onboard the Belmond Andean Explorer, the first and only luxury sleeper train in Peru.

If you are looking for an action-packed few days as part of your Peruvian holiday, look no further than the Sacred Valley. A hub for thrill-seekers of all ages, this is the perfect place to find your inner Bear Grylls.

The current world we live in is unbelievably well connected. We thrive off being able to reach our loved ones in a moment’s click and the ability to see what’s happening around the world in a quick scroll.

With a population of almost 11 million, Lima is Peru’s biggest and busiest city. It is also seen as the gateway to the country, with regular flights coming and going each day, often used as a quick stopover on the way to other places. However, with the development of Barranco, among other factors, this is quickly changing.

Historical, cosmopolitan, packed full of culture and with a great atmosphere, Cuzco is undoubtedly one of the coolest cities in Peru. The ultimate place to stay is Belmond Palacio Nazarenas. A converted, 17th-century convent built on Inca foundations, it is steeped in history and ideally located in the city centre.

In the week prior to me going to the Sacred Valley, I would often be asked, “Where are you staying next?” When I mentioned Sol y Luna, it was always followed by “ohhs!” and “ahhs!”. So to say my expectations began to soar was an understatement.
The term ‘family holiday’ is dizzyingly broad. It does not take into account ages, numbers, interests or needs. All it really gives you is a timings framework, and for a long-haul big bells and whistles trip, it is likely you will be looking to go in summer, with its long stretch of possibilities.
Peru is a country of true variety, but this of course means that it’s very popular amongst visitors. We like to use adventure as a way to experience the sites from a different angle and without the crowds.
