    Extraordinary Villas In Latin America

    Latin America Villas

Below we have highlighted just five villas that we love in this expansive region. This is by no means a prescriptive list, but rather it shows what we look for in villas for our clients and the inspiring ways we can create a family holiday of a lifetime for every member of the family. The meticulous way in which our Destination Experts’ plan your Latin American holiday means that this exotic region is opened to you in a hassle free and relaxing manner. Great travel is about contrast and villa holidays in Latin America work particularly well when paired with other adventures and experiences in the region.

One our favourite villas in pastel pretty Cartagena is Casa Agua which was formerly a hotel but has now been converted to a private house. The charming colonial house was built in the late 17th century and is steeped in history. The eclectic decor nods to its heritage, with a thoughtfully curated mix of antiques and handcrafted objects in every room. Cosy and elegant and with a modern pool and solarium. By staying here, you are exposed to an exciting slice of Colombian culture.

If you want to combine your stay in buzzing Cartagena with some beach time. We have access to some exclusive private houses on private islands on Colombia’s Caribbean coast. In this area, a boat is the equivalent of a car as many beaches on the mainland cannot be accessed by road and groups of islands become like neighbourhoods. You can even get food delivered to your island by boat and a particular favourite for us is the local fishermen that sail around the islands selling their freshly caught king crab.

Nestled amongst lush trees on the side of a mountain and overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the aptly named Tree House is a magical escape for a couple or a family of four. There’s an ethereal vibe that runs throughout this half-inside, half-outside multi-tiered villa. At the bottom, you’ll find a large waterfall filling your own private pool, not to mention a private stretch of white sand beach just beyond. The look, whilst undoubtedly luxurious, is stripped back and eco-minded, but rest-assured that the Tree House has all the mod-cons you would find back home, it just happens to lie in a jungle paradise.

Although a stay at The Tree House is certainly worthy of its own trip to Mexico, we would also recommend spending a few days in Mexico City. Once the centre of Aztec civilisation, this heady metropolis is now packed full of trendy restaurants and modern art galleries.

Or for a longer and more immersive Mexican experience, why not fly over to the Caribbean Coast for a few days in laidback Tulum, with its impressive Mayan Ruins (of which we can organise a private tour) and world-class restaurants. For the more intrepid, another rewarding trip is to travel with a guide by 4×4 and cross the border into Guatemala to explore Mayan civilisation on both sides of the border.

The best holidays are often those which offer a new spin on a classic destination, and Villa Escalesia is just that. The Galápagos Islands are, of course, traditionally explored by boat, but there is much to be said for staying in this luxury residence at the southern tip of Santa Cruz Island. For those who want a slower pace rather than hopping from island to island, you can unwind on your sea-front sun deck, pool or sauna and enjoy fantastic food cooked by your private chef under the stars. Equally, there are daily trips travelling by private yacht, which can access some of the lesser-visited smaller islands, where you can dock at secret coves and interact with the incredible wildlife there. We always make sure that the villa is stocked with full snorkel equipment and wetsuits for explorers young and old as well as anything else that suits your family’s wants or needs.

This charming villa on the enchanting Isla de Providencia makes for a wonderful Caribbean escape. With its three light and airy bedrooms, it is an idyllic spot to unwind for a few days. There is also a large terrace, as well as a swimming pool and private access to the ocean. Days here are spent lazing in the sunshine, swimming, scuba-diving, kayaking, trekking and exploring in 4WD buggies or by boat. Monasterio del Viento is a fabulous place for groups of friends or families alike. You will be very well looked after by an English-speaking host, a housekeeper, a nanny (if needed) and a fantastic local cook, so you won’t need to lift a finger in this glorious seaside bolthole.
