Each one of our dedicated Destination Experts has extensive knowledge of the regions in which they specialise, and are continuously revisiting, trying and testing in order to offer our clients up-to-date and little-known insights into the regions they are so passionate about.


    POSITION: Head of Product

    We are looking for a capable, creative, and organised Head of Product to join the cazenove+loyd team. The candidate should be an enthusiastic individual with great energy who can source new and interesting product to provide support to both our sales and marketing teams.     REPORTING TO: Managing Director

    REMUNERATION: Competitive basic salary, pension, quarterly and annual performance commission, bonuses, annual travel grant, career progression

    DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Keep all product, including client pre-travel information, sold by the company across its three geographical divisions up to date, relevant and accurate by researching and liaising with our suppliers, and sales and marketing teams
    • Keep on top of and update all product descriptions and client pre-travel information in the company CRM system
    • Source new and innovative product to ensure that what we are offering our clients is creative and relevant
    • Keep abreast of the product featured in the press, but more importantly, have an awareness of what is right for our clients/what our clients are asking for and communicate this effectively to our suppliers and in turn the business 
    • Understand how to interrogate a new product to assess its suitability and relevance 
    • Schedule and present new and relevant product in weekly forums, enabling us to get the best out of our destinations and to market and sell them effectively 
    • Maintain positive relationships with all our suppliers
    • Ensure that the product we sell has met the appropriate Health & Safety requirements and that contracts are in place with all suppliers 
    • Collaboratively work with finance and suppliers, from an analytical and reporting perspective, to develop robust pricing and commission structures that ensure we are achieving the best rates and, in turn, value where possible from each relationship 
    • Using competitor analysis and working closely with finance, develop a guide for Destination Experts as to what target GPM% they should be looking to achieve from each product
    • Report on the profitability and performance of all product types using our CRM system
    • Contribute to the organisation of FAM trips to ensure the teams are visiting new product where required and necessary 
    • Contribute to the organisation and execution of press trips, as and when required, working closely with the marketing department to ensure all trips are aligned with marketing strategy
    • Maintain collaborative working relationships with both sales and marketing to ensure the right product is used to create relevant and inspiring marketing content for promotion through various channels e.g., email campaigns, social media, and digital advertising

    PERSON SPECIFICATION

    • Well-travelled with a good knowledge of our regions
    • An enthusiastic reader, researcher and presenter
    • Able to communicate, liaise and work well with others and independently
    • Be commercially astute and understand the business objectives fully
    • Possess excellent time management and organisational skills and be able to prioritise tasks, as required, across the four teams 
    • Commitment to delivering high-quality service consistently to clients through the development of product
    • Have a natural ability and be a proactive solution-orientated forward thinker
    • Be a disciplined self-starter
    • Work to tight deadlines set by the business
    • Be comfortable with numbers and have a keen eye for detail
    • Have an excellent telephone manner
    • A highly effective communicator

    EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

    • Must have held a product role in travel for a minimum of three years
    • Must understand the high-end luxury travel market
    • A good general understanding of product in Latin America, Africa, the Indian Ocean, the Middle East and Asia is preferred but non-essential 
    • Must have a broad general understanding of different product types, e.g., experiential, cultural etc
    • Able to demonstrate how they have interrogated product effectively, assessing its suitability and viability for our client base
    • Have a proven track record of sourcing, developing and implementing new product and provide detailed examples
    • Have a proven track record of managing detailed reporting and analysis about the performance of a product 
    • Have previously performed a sales and or marketing role in travel
