Where best to visit in Asia during the early summer months
INDONESIA AND CAMBODIA
There are few better ways to spend a week in June than island hopping around Indonesia. We can arrange a charter of a luxury yacht around the Komodo Islands, the archipelago which is a chocolate box of cultural treats and nature-based adventure.
For those who like adventure, peace and quiet, and the ultimate in unblemished natural beauty, there is nothing quite as inspiring as an expanse of crystal clear waters dotted with tropical islands as your only companions. Inaccessible to anyone staying in a hotel or lodge on land, many of the small Indonesian islands and the sea that surrounds them are still very much unexplored and unspoilt by tourism, allowing for the most exclusive and unforgettable experiences.
Southeast Asia is an underrated early summer destination, with most assuming that ‘green season’ is not an optimum time to visit. However, we believe that destinations such as Cambodia can be even more inspiring at this time of year. The increase in rainfall means there are far fewer crowds at the main temples in Angkor and with our guides’ expertise we can even ensure you have some of the temples entirely to yourself, perhaps biking from temple to temple with a surprise picnic breakfast near the ruins.
The lush vegetation guarantees that the country is at its most beautiful, giving way to wonderful photographic opportunities. Hotels tend to have much more favourable rates at this time of year, making an out-of-this-world holiday much more affordable. We always secure excellent guides for our clients but of course the best specialist guides tend to get booked up well in advance. During early summer, there is more chance of securing one of our top guides, even if you only book a few months in advance.
