Colombia, a country of contrast
Embark on a road less travelled and join us on this luxury small Colombia group tour. Our exciting itinerary takes in the very best of the region, from exclusive hotels to extraordinary experiences, in a stunning showcase one of South America’s most enthralling and biodiverse countries.
Our Colombia group tour will explore wild and off-the-beaten track gems such as Los Llanos, a largely unspoilt area, home to one of the most diverse ecosystems on the planet and a sanctuary to endangered birds and mammals. Wildlife has flourished in these gorgeous wetlands, and we can expect to see species such as giant anteaters, caiman, capybaras and armadillos, to name a few. So, get your camera and binoculars at the ready.
After emerging from nature’s embrace, we will head to the coffee region, where traditional towns and vibrant houses sit alongside forests containing the world’s tallest palm trees, unique to the area, and of course, plantations dedicated to the cultivation of world-class coffee beans. It’s here that our Colombia group tour will learn about the world’s favourite pick-me-up.
Next up, we will discover Medellín, a regenerated city of unanticipated luxury now renowned as Colombia’s best kept secret – think year-round perfect weather (it’s not known as the ‘City of Eternal Spring’ for nothing), fabulous restaurants and a fascinating street culture influenced by art, music, and the notorious Pablo Escobar.
Ensuring time for superior rest and relaxation, the final few days of our Colombia group tour will be spent in the colourful city of Cartaegna. We plan to finish our luxury small group travel trip on the Caribbean coast, with exclusive access to the most fabulous private beach on an idyllic island, the ideal spot day to recharge and reminisce in between swimming in the turquoise waters and dining on a picnic of ceviche and local fruits.
What makes this trip spectacular?
Colombia group tour Highlights
Exploring the largely untouched wetlands of Los Llanos
Los Llanos – an endless sea of wetlands which is largely untouched and has very few visitors each year. Due to Los Llanos rarely hitting the typical traveler’s radar, these wetlands have become a haven for wildlife to flourish. You’ll have the opportunity to discover the fauna in their natural habitat, whilst staying in the only luxury lodge for miles. Spend three nights exploring these gorgeous wetlands with boat trips, local trails, pastures and an exclusive experience with one of the expert guides to discover the magic of nocturnal Llanos by canoe.
A visit to Santa Elena Village, including a flower tapestry workshop
A private visit to Santa Elena – a little village which sits in the mountains above the city of Medellin. It is home to a great variety of traditional flower farmers and the impressive Arví Nature Reserve. You’ll be part of an exclusive trip to a traditional family-run flower farm where you will meet the ‘Silletero’ (flower farmer) and their family who will be ready to welcome you with open arms. An opportunity to gain an insight into the culture of flower farming in a private setting and discover the glorious gardens as you learn more about the plants, origins and cultural context.
Spend the day at a private island beach
A day to relax away from the crowds on your own exclusive private beautiful beach. Just 45 minutes by private boat and you’ll find yourself in an empty paradise. Soak up the sun and relax as you reminisce on all the incredible experiences of the week. A step back from the buzz of the city into a new world of glistening waters and sand sweeping between your toes. A classic lunch is served of fresh fruit and delicate seafood before immersing yourself back into serenity.
